S/C V6
Well, I had to laugh at this one guys.
This kid that is a poser around my town has a fake roush. He is buyin a S/C kit for it and has put about 8000 into all of it including intake, tires, rims, etc.
So I have some questions for you v6 guys:
1) he thinks he will run 11 psi (he has stock internals)
2) now at 11 psi he estimates 350 hp at the wheels..this right?
i have some comments too...he cnat run 11 without forging the internals right? the v6 engine cant be stronger than the gt's.
so say, he ran a safer 9 psi...what would that put his power output to? (ati procharger with a TB, side exhaust, and a few other MINOR things).
thanks guys! just want to get my facts straight before I start making fun of him because he told me he'll be runnin mid 11's all day...LMAO

he wont be runnin 11s...if he does get that kit and runnin 9 psi...he'll run around high 13s...but the 3.8 can run 11 psi safely....ya just need a new fuel system and spark plugs and a chip and you're set...he could possibly run 11s if he does forge ALL the internals....getting everything new like...crankshaft, new pistons, rods,etc,etc...and he'll also need a limited slip and prolly 3.73 or 4.10s.....then he could go 11s but thats alot of moolah....i hope hes rich if he wants to run that
yeah, he's not gonna be anywhere near 350RWHP. the vortech kit i'm buying from a guy had it on his 99GT running 11psi. they got it tuned up to 390RWHP but brought it down to 375RWHP with boltons. there's no way he's going to put out the same numbers as a GT at 11psi.
he wont touch 11psi specially with stock compression and internals. also he would need to get an MSD box or engine managment system to have the spark retard he needs to accomplish good power numbers. id say more like 8 psi. i have no clue what the stock compression is on the 3.8L v6's still 350hp is aiming high.
see..i said that his internals were gonna need to be changed...
but he didnt believe me, now he says that with a fuel pump along with what he's gonna have...he'll be makein 385-400.
he's a ***!

w/ the ati procharger he can do jsut that, run at 11psi w/ stock internals. he will get like 340 bhp.
Using the 11 psi tuner kit, a 1999 Mustang with automatic transmission recently ran a 13.38 ET @ 105.4 mph at Kansas City International Raceway. The vehicle was stock with the exception of Flowmaster exhaust, a 3.73:1 gear and drag radials, and was running 91 Octane fuel.

hmm, ur the only one to think that thus far!

He's going to be around 250-260bhp @ 11psi if it's stock other than the supercharger.
