Default Tempeture Issues

My girlfriends 95 Mustang seems to be having some tempeture issues. The temp gauge goes up half way, then goes backdown to about a quarter. It does not stay steady, kind of bounces around. I have had the thermostat replaced twice hada radiator leak repaired amd replaced a busted top radiator hose. Any ideas?

replace the water temp sender. Located on the lower intake, towards the front drivers side of the engine.

Yeah, I would say check the temp sensor. You can also look to see you if you have oil in the coolent, possible head gasket problem (hope not, but check the sensor first)
