POSI
I wanna get my car to do two wheel burnouts instead of the one wheel wonders. It's not like I do burnouts all the time, but it's good to have. I have a couple of questions. Besides being able to do burnouts, what else can the new rear do? Better handling? And how much would it run me? Also, would it be a good investment? I'd appreciate the help. And which one would be best? I'm not trying to sound like a racer or anything, I just wanna know the pros and cons of upgrading the rear.
A T-lok will run you about $200, and the install will depend on the mechanic, but a good estimate is ~$250. Almost everyone on here will tell you to go ahead and get new gears while the mechanic has your rear end down, saving you some labor costs in the long run. 4.10 gears for an automatic, and 3.73s for a manual. But you have a lot of options, I would look into it more before you decide. There are many different differentials out there.
for N/A, centri, or jucied cars i would go with 4.10s
gears are $150
bering kit is $70
DTT is ~$450
tuner is $400
install $200-$400
you can go cheap and get a tlok but theres always a posibility of blowing it up down the road so id rather do a detroit once and not worryy about it
