Default springs

i need brakes while im replacing everything im going to cut my springs i figured 1/2 to 3/4 of a coil would do is there anything i should know about cutting them or do i just cut it off the bottom

someone told me 4cyl fox springs would be better but i would stil have to cut the rear spring will this work on my new edge and would it be better than cutting my stock springs or not
