Default Extreme Cabin Heat

This was a one time even that I dont understand. I blew onto the highway they other day and took 2nd far. Like 45-50 mph. About 2 seconds later I thought the damn thing caught fire. The firewall gave off insane heat, like the heat radiated through the tranny to the shifter *** immediately. Any hotter and I woulda pulled over. What coulda caused this?
