Default windstar intake

the egr tubing is giving me a problem. the silicon tubing that came in the kit broke then i tryed vacume line that failed it melted on the inside. then i tryed a piece of copper with vacume line just to hold it to the egr line. is there anything that i could use that could take the heat? and does anyone else have the windstar kit with the egr?what are you using?
