I'm throwing a P0401 code on my 2000 v6. I have had to replace the DPFE sensor in the past but I can not remember if it was this one or a 1996 v6 I had a couple of years ago. So first, the DPFE Sensor on my 2000 is the black plastic one. Were 2000s using the black plastic DPFE out of the factory or were they still using the aluminum potmetal ones? I do remember that the one I took of was aluminum.
Second, how exactly do I test this sensor? I have read to test with a volt meter, but not sure how.
I have a bad DPFE sensor (2000 3.8L V6). Where can I get a diagram so I can replace it? If it's the one I think it is (right on top near EGR valve), it should be a pretty easy replacement...
There wasn't a recall, the part was just modified. They usually go out in cold weather from water vapor getting inside and freezing, causing the circuit to break.
