So what is better/recommended by people who have already done this?

Just replacing the crank, or swapping the whole motor?

And would this be good, or a pile of s***?

Swap the motor over. Much easier.

swapping the entire motor is easier and cheaper.

The best way is to rebuild the whole thing but your looking at about $3500 is parts and labor but one badass engine built to do what you want.

buy a second motor and build it with forged parts. less of a rush to get it together.
