Default Headlight help

I am pretty sure this doesn't go in this section but I couldn't find a lighting section. I am ordering new headlight tomorrow morning and I wanted to get some advice on the type of housing you would recommend for aftermarket. In my Explorer I just bought some of those diamond ones off of ebay and they were fantastic. My current headlights are stock and very very cloudy. Even on bright they don't put out enough to see anything at night. ( IE the deer that about took out my new stang last night). And where some of my friends live I have to drive on country roads and don't really wanna hurt my new love. Is there any certain kind I should look for that will give me the best vision at night? I don't want something so bright I am getting flashed by everycar I pass(happened a lot in the EX) but I want something that I can defintley see at least more than the 10 yrds on bright I can see now.

Cobra Black painted housing with HID kits. Or, Silverstars. Either way, the Cobra headlights are crystal clear.

Does the black really show more than the chrome or silver

No. The biggest thing you will notice is the fact that the lights appear more refined, and slightly sunken in. Or at least that's what I noticed. Plus there's that whole thing where they don't impede your light coming out.
