Broken Catalytic Converters
Went to a Tuffy to get my mustang an estimate on repair (2000 v6, no mods). They gave me a figure of about $2000, just to replace both of the catalytic converters for the stock Y pipe. I thought that was a bit outrageous, so I started browsing around to find a catted H or X pipe to put in there, hoping to upgrade without going over what they quoted me as. It wouldn't be a big deal to have find some cat backs to go with it.
If there are no catted H pipes, what is a good alternative for keeping the price low?

two grand WTF
my car passed emissions, with high flow cats and long tube headers, i doubt he would have a problem, i also re did the whole thing including o2 sensors and little stuff for less then One grand.
MAC O/R h pipe and 2 high flow cats and a GT catback (flowmaster or some sort) is what i would do and have a local exhaust shop do everything.
*note: my car passed using MILS on the rear, NOT a tuner, in some states you can not have a tuned vehicle to get a sticker because the station is locked out of the ECU
