how much pressure should i put in 255/40/17

I dont see why it should be anything less than 32lbs unless your racing then you drop it to like 15

I have 265/35/18 all around and I run 32lbs.

Depends on brand / style and what kind of driving you are doing. Anwer those, and I'll tell you how much to run.

i know if you pump them up to around 45 then they don't roll when taking turns. But when you do that i don't think they grip as good.
