Default awful squeal noise and a nasty smell

ok guys I am hoping u can help me out. Ok 2 weeks ago I put in my powers erring pump. I notice that the belt needs to go on a certain way but forgot which way and just put it on. I put my car on stock tune also because of gas. So here my problem today I was driving 30 mins no problem when I started to drive again I heard a squeal noise I was like ok….. Then again after 5 mins….. Then I didn’t hear it for about 15 mins… I notice when the ac on it more frequent.. when i park i saw smoke coming out and smelling awful. I heard a tap I believe, I am not to sure.

I think it is
Could be the belt
But why would the smell come from the very back of the engine?

You prob put the belt on wrong. There should be a diagram under the hood to show you how the belt should look when installed properly.

Yeah, you probably put the belt on wrong and the belt was smoking a little bit and your smelling the belt.

Some belts have diagrams on the I know my polycog belt had one its fairly simple to tell which side of the belt needs to be on what pully the smoothe ones get the smothe/back/outside of the belt and the rubbed oillies get the ribbedfront/inside of the belt

If the belt is on right then check your AC compressor if you can wiggle the pully then it may be the bearing/clutch assembly
