Default Help changing stereo

Just got a 98 Mustang 3.8 v6

want to change the stereo on it

do I have to open the whole dash board for it?

dont know anything about the car

please help..

No you dont need to pull the whole dashboard to change the stereo.

Go to Advanced Auto or Autozone and get the special tool to pull the radio or make your own by cutting a clothes hanger into 2 pieces about 5-6 inches long. Make these into a U shape.

Pull out the radio and disconnect everything from the back. Buy a wiring harness so you dont have to cut up the wires and make this more of a headache. Match the wires on the harness for the new HU(headunit) and the wiring harness. Plug wiring harness into the stock harness. Plug HU harness into HU and turn car on to see if everything works. If it doesnt start troubleshooting or post a question on here.

or if you buy a head unit from best buy im pretty sure they install it for free to save you any type of headache
