Exclamation Possible computer problem

Mustang 96 v6 obd2 engine management.
Car started spluttering as though running out of gas, pulled over & stopped engine. With key on engine off I can hear rapid clicking like relays or solenoids. While this is happening the CEL is flickering rapidly, the fan tries to run with engine cold . The engine will start for a while but extremely lumpy & uneven idle, it wont run for long & eventually splutters to a halt. With scantool connected vehicle sensors read intermittently & erratically. Eventually the computer vehicle status loses connection with the scantool & readings are lost.

Anyone know or have ideas?

Regards Aeroman.

Does it smell gasy out the exhaust?.If it does, it's the computer most likely, I had this problem on my old 95 I used to own. It is called a flashing cel, or limp mode, don't drive it like that.

No rich smelling gas. It's gone at the moment.

I've got a feeling the CCRM is on the way out or I have a bad electrical connection somewhere.

Maybe it's your fuel pump going out.

Sounds like a voltage issue to me, check the alternator and battery
