Default Titan Stroker Motors

Been looking to upgrade my 1997 single port to a split port. In my
searches and also talking with SSM and Morana it's best that I
don't crack open my 136K motor, as most likely would wind up tearing
it back down anyway.

So question is anyone outside of the jeep community have any experience
with these motors? I'm not looking add a S/C from the start but will be
adding a ProCharger with about 6 or 7psi down the road.
Sooo..first here is a link to the motor in question..

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/High-...d=p3911.c0.m14

Would I be better to go this route with the extra torque of having a 4.3 or
just get a rebuilt stock short block and put a power pack with a split
port swap. I know a stock block can handle the ProCharger but just
not sure if stroking this engine puts added stress.

I know going forged would be the best solution, but I'm not interested in
spending 7K for a motor. Insurance is about 1200 a year more for a GT and
I already considered that, but I'd rather put the money into the V6 than
my insurance agents pocket.

Not changing the motor till after the winter. In the meantime going to
upgrade the suspension, drop in an 8.8 and getting ready to do a Pypes
Beast Sytem.

I'm not a newbie to modding cars, just been out of it for
many years now, so learning as I go. Last car I played with was a Vette
in 89 and did a Lingenfelter set-up with nitrous. Prior to that I go back to
my 396 Chevelle days and did a BB Vega as well. Carbs, dual points and
solid lifters were cake for me, gotta learn the new stuff now. This car is for my
daughter so I'm not looking to get that crazy, but she is getting really
upset getting smoked by civics. Figure I'll do the motor first and if she
stays out of trouble I'll add on the ProCharger.

So..Any Thoughts on the motor in question..

I usually dont either, but I went on some Jeep forums which seem to be
Titans specialty and good things are said about their motors over there.

As far as cost goes I'm trying to do the motor portion for about 3500 total.
If I got a SSM powerpack for about 2 g's, and a reman short block for
about 1200 I would be in the ballbark. So this motor for 2695 seems
to be in the range. Yes I know if I built one myself I could save money
but that isn't an option for me.

a

Not debating, as thats why I posted but what would make the Titan motor
junk? I don't see not being forged as a reason, but any thing else?

A friend of mine who is a Ford mechanic told me something similar. Said to
just go with a ProCharger and run the stock motor till it goes. He said
at that point I'll have a good idea of how much more I want when I do
change out the engine..
Actually that would be the easiest solution. If I got another 10K miles
with the blower I would consider, but no quarantee with 134 already on it.

Delk is hit or miss lately. They do have some great history with the V6 Mustang, but SSM is top notch all around.
