^^^Try that. I'll bet it may be the magical panacea for your dilemma. (Wow, it's obviously way too late...I just used words that confused me.)

 

I picked up a can of silver Dupli-Color wheel paint and some Dupli-Color Clear Coat for wheels and tested it on a brushed metal sawblade (thank god). It is a "bumpy" spray base coat that has a silver and white glitter effect in it. Looks very cheep. I used multiple light coats with the base and about 4 light coats with the clearcoat and ended up with a painted sawblade that looks like some 4 yr old used flat gray on then dunked it in silver glitter. Very dissapointed with the final product. Is there anything I can use to fix my wheels with? I dont have the money to either buy new wheels or have them sandblasted and start from scratch. I thought this was a simple job...

 

There still shouldn't be any grease if an axle seal went. Maybe a ball joint boot started leaking and the grease got out.

Anyway, I'm almost positive you don't have to loosen the lugs to get it off. Just take a screwdriver behind that little opening. It may feel like it's gonna break, but it shouldn't unless there's something wrong and it's stuck. Just stick a screwdriver behind it and work your way around.

Also, to clean them, just use some of that pink **** degreaser and spray it on there, then wipe off what you can, then spray it again and hose them off.

 

Yeah, sand them down get all that ****ty paint off and do it again, about your only option.

 

one of my center caps is cracked but it goes back on just fine, maybe yours is just stuck on there good, give it some oomph
