I've seen little bits on this problem scattered on line but never a real answer:
Increasingly ofter when I go to fill the pump keeps clicking off before a barely get any gas in. Many efforts of slow pumping will eventually fill the tank but it takes forever. Sometime switch pumps/stations helps, sometimes not.

What is the problem? Will ford warranty cover this? Is it a known defect they will cover out of warranty. It's really starting to **** me off.

on the 05-06 the recalled them and installed a new fuel tank out of the 07 models. Depending on when your car was build, it may have the recalled tank in it. If it does have the older style tank, it is a recalled item and Ford will replace it free of charge.

A very useful trick is to push down on the little door to let the fumes scape, it helps whenever mine acts up. Also if you have the 05-06 make sure the recall has been fixed on it.
