Use 87 unless you have altered the spark timing enough to need 89-93. All octane is is a resistance to spark knock. If you use 93 octane on a stock tune, you're wasting 20-30 cents a gallon.

Our cars were tuned to run on 87 from the factory if I'm not mistaken.

Yea i better check that out hu...probably best to use whatever the manual says for that reason. Do you think you would get any better production mpg wise from using a higher grade?

I use 89 octane in mine. Both have stock tunes and I noticed a increase in 2-3 mpg over an average of 20 tankfuls with the 89 over 87. I did not notice anymore gain running the 93 octane over the 89 though. Unknown of any power gain as neither car has been dynoed.

Using a higher octane rating when it's not necessary is just wasting money. I run premium, but then again, I have to.

Does that mean your odometer runs backwards?
