Skip the basic bolt ons go f/i, 8.8 rear w/3.73, and hand held tuner. Enjoy that until you decide you want more..then call up super 6.

Even on an auto they might be a bit much with f/i.

I'd stay 4.10's with a 5 speed even if I was doing an M112 swap. You can never have to much power or leverage, just not enough traction....

That means build the suspension!!

Yeah but you can run out of gear too quickly. Especially if its DD. 5 speed and 4.10's cant really help gas mileage.

In the city it actually does, 5th gear becomes useable without bogging down.

Hey thanks for all the tips guys! They are really giving me some nice ideas! My mustang is an automatic actually. Again, another reason I wish I would have known more about cars before I bought it. Now what exactly do you all mean with "go f/i, 8.8 rear w/3.73, and hand held tuner."? Is that a type of supercharger?

I vote go for it man. It isn't as unattainable as some of these posts make it seem. For 5 grand you could do it and still have a little cash left in your pocket I would think. You can use your dash harness. You need an engine wiring harness which can be had for about 100$, 8.8 rear, engine, driveshaft and transmission, fuel pump. If I were You I would but a 4v from a 97-97 Lincoln Mark VIII for around 700 bucks(yes you can use the GT harness). You can expect to spend around 700$ on the driveshaft and rear end together. Then I would look into a good transmission like a T56 or a TKO for around 2500. Use the rest of the money on the little surprises that come along the way when doing the swap.

Maybe you should just go with the V8. F/i stands for forced induction ie. supercharger. 8.8 is the size of a GT rear end which is much stronger than the stock 7.5 inch rear end in our V6's. and 3.73's and 4.10's are different gear ratios that you can put in the rear end.
