Default Few quick interior questions

I know some of you guys have painted interior pieces before so i have a few questions. What steps did you follow: sand, clean, prime, paint, clear coat? And which paint did you use, duplicolor? Last question, do these two pieces just pop right off and back on?

The entire plastic piece that surrounds the radio/vents.

Just the plastic part.

Some pictures of the scratches and why I want to paint them. I'm thinking just plain black, but they aren't really plain black now so I'm not quite sure how that would look.

Not sure how your radio bezel comes out but with mine there was 2 screws and then it popped out, after you have the radio out. Im pretty sure you need to take the shifter bezel out first tho.

The door bezels just pop out and then you unscrew the window switches.

I sanded, cleaned and then painted my interior pieces. It came out nice and I didnt clear coat b/c it was shiny enough for me. Went from tan to black so I didnt prime either.

i painted mine blue, i used a paint designed to bond to plastics, sanded it down real good cleaned it off and then sprayed like 2 or 3 coats of paint. The radio bezel has a post that goes into the interior of the dash that has to be removed. on yours you remove the cd box and the radio and you can look in there and see it (it's quite easy to see).

take out peice around shifter, gunna have to unplug lighter if i want it off. then radio bezel pops off pull from the bottom, gunna have to unplug the 3 buttons. door peice will just pop off, u'll notice a little indent on the top pop that out first then theres a clip on the bottom of the peice that'll just pop off with a bit of force. then unscrew the window switch and mirror switch and ur set.

So are some of you guys saying I actually have to take my radio out? It seems like a kindof flimsly plastic piece I figured it would just pop off. How do you get the shifter bezel off, I'll try that to make it easier.

I painted the whole interior on my old 85 Fox. What worked for me was to sand, clean with alcohole, purchase paint adhesive and sprayed 2 coats of that, then sprayed the paint (what ever color you wish) onto that and let it sit for 12-15 hours. Turned out perfect!
