speaking of that my car idles REAALLL bad!! and i got a coil pack from a friend that had wrecked his car that was a good running mustang my idle got better but only for like a week...
snake lol man i just got stranded in a neighborhood.. and volcom when it is running none of my gauges work! and my lights are SOOOO dim.. and before all of my electrical stuff would shut off ( gauges woould go from bottom to top and radio would shut off and lights would flicker)
yea man that sounds like the alternator isnt conducting any amps if that isnt your problem then mabey you have a loose ground some place. and the gauges and all the electrical stuff is just being reset be the ecc/ecu
yea i know what you mean thats why i do all my work myself its cheaper that way, just see if the alt is bad first auto zone doesnt charge to check it and then go on from there good luck man
I just wanted to say this: NEVER run an engine with the positive battery cable disconnected, it 'full fields' the alternator, and will damage it quickly.
so the car is running good with the alt disconnected have you brought it to see if it is alternating any dc current? do you have a multimeter handy if it doesnt ohm out its prob bad

Really??? everyone always tells me to test it by doing that.. maybe my alterator is bad then

Just removing it for a short period wont do any damage. But its always better to remove the Negative terminal. I am betting your alternator is bad, unless you have a ignition problem causing you idle to dump to very low levels. That will also cause your lights to dim, and other things. Get that alternator tested then go from there.
