Default Quick Exhaust Question

I am looking at getting a true dual exhaust on my V6 with Thrush welded mufflers and tips.

What is the exhaust size (diameter) of a V6 mustang? I was told 2.25". Is this correct or was I told wrong?

Thanks.

2.25" is the stock diameter. If your gettin duals ran then use 2.5".

Okay, so when I order my Thrush mufflers get them O/O 2.5"?

Is there a benefit to getting 2.5", or what's the reason for it?

I'd run an H-pipe as opposed to divorced, and don't remove your cats, or at least put in 2 good ones. your car is going to be really raspy with those mufflers those. Flowmaster has a decent sound and magnaflow catbacks give the most power, jsut keep that in mind.

Well I am keeping my CATS on. I'm wanting to cut everything after the CATS and just redo the whole thing from the stock exhaust on there now. I was looking at Flowmaster Original 40 Series mufflers, but I don't know how loud it'll actually make the car. I know it's a V6 and all and I shouldn't expect much out of it, I just want a good sounding exhaust that you can actually hear when accelerating and driving, maybe even hear it pretty well from an idle. From my research Flowmaster is my best bet, but I'm worried it won't be loud enough. There is another guy on here that has the True Dual set up with Thrush Mufflers and he said it's not too bad or too raspy, only at really high RPMs and he also still has his stock CATS.

So I'm still really debating, and plus Thrush Mufflers are a lot cheaper from JEGs, that's another reason I was looking at them. The true duals are also a lot cheaper for the shop to do. I'm kind of on a budget, but if I really needed/wanted to I could put out some more money on it.

Just from the videos I've seen of exhaust, Flowmasters don't seem to be that much different from stock exhaust, then again I've never heard them driving with an H-pipe set up.
