Well it won't kill your car if you only do it once in a while, but if you make a habit out of it, or if you often manually shift your auto, it's not the best for your trans or your gears. The auto trans isn't strong enough to handle that kind of punishment day in and day out.

Edit: I agree with the manual shifting of an auto being bad though...Just not the OD part.

yeah my mom has a 626 and when she got it the trans went out and it was fresh from the dealership lol

thats not good, the reason I broguht that up is because my sister is driving one right now...has 60k miles on it, and the trans doesn't shift like it should. I'll let her know
