Default Brakes Breaking?

I've never ever had this problem before so I'm confused. The brakes are super heavy and are really kind of hard to push in. Once I actually get the pedal to move it kind of idles in the pressed position for a second and the brakes remain applied. after a second or two it slowly starts to come back unlss I put my foot behind it and pull. What is this? if it was a fluid leak or something the pedal would be light, but like I said, it's super heavy

Check the fluid, if that is ok, then bleed the brakes, if that is OK then it is probably a master cylinder problem.

I'm gonna check the fluid tomorrow after school. One more thing, it only happens sometimes? sometimes when i start the car it brakes just fine, then other times it brakes like the fluid is semi-molten steel

If it has power brakes, check the vacuum hose from the brake booster over to the intake. Sounds like the rubber hose may be collapsing that provides the vacuum for the power booster. If so a new hose will fix it, other wise could be a booster problem. Good luck.

So, head to the local hardware store and pick up a length of vacuum line for a couple bucks, change the fluid, bleed the lines, and I'll be set. thanks guys haha.
