Removing Valve Covers
Both driver and passenger side valve covers are leaking oil. While physically removing the valve covers and installing a new gasket is very simple. I'm concerned about getting clearance to remove & install them. It looks like I need to remove the air intake, upper intake manifold, crankcase vent tube, PCV valve and spark plug wires to get clearance and access to the bolts. Correct? There are a couple of metal tubes that are in the way too. Do they need to be removed or are the flexible enough that I can just move them out of the way during removal & install? Is there anything else I need to remove? Anything I should keep an eye out for? Any tips?
Thanks in advance...

Welp you can try to remove them without removing the upper intake but its really not that big of a deal to remove it.
When I had problems with my lower intake manifold gaskets on the 00' splitport I was able to take it apart, clean it, put the gaskets back on and torque it down to spec in just a handful of minutes.
A singleport is a little easier.
If you do this then grab an upper intake manifold gasket and EGR gasket too, that should be it as far as other gaskets that you would need.
