Pypes X-pipe problem!
Hey guys, this is my first post here so please bear with me.
I ordered my Pypes X-pipe with SLP Loudmouth II catbacks from American Muscle. As soon as I got em I couldn't wait to head over to my mechanic and bolt em on like their website claims. But like always nothing seemed to go right. He starts with installing the supplied downpipe to the manifolds. Doesn't tighten them all the way so he could adjust and angle them to fit into the "x pipe".
This is where the problem lies, the 2 ends of the downpipe just doesn't fit into the x pipe and believe it or not we spent 3 hrs trying to get that damn thing to connect. If you connect the left hand side one then the right doesn't fit and vice-versa. I talked with American Muscle and Pypes and they basically said they wouldnt take it back since I already tried to bolt em in. They said the only way they'll take it back is if I can take pictures and show them the problem and then they would decide if it has a defect or not. I just think that is wasting more time and money when I could just take it to a custom exhaust shop and they could probably bend the downpipes a bit so that they would fit.
Anyways what do you guys think and could you recommend any good exhaust shop that have experience with Mustangs.
Thanks in advance!
Jason
