My radio is acting up, just want to check the wiring. Theres 4 square holes, im guessing this is how you open the bad boy up? Just unsure how to exactly..

You need the radio removal tool, or just two pieces of wire hanger inserted into the 4 holes and pulled slightly outward. This will release the locking mechanism and let the radio slide out.

gotcha,
ill try the wire hanger one haha. so i just shove em in there, should i here a click for each one? or just push until i think its unlocked a latch

Sliding it out, haha. If it were only that easy.

It's the most frustrating pain in the *** getting that thing out. but make sure to not put the hangers in too deep, and also when you are pulling it out make sure you slightly spread the hangers outwards when attempting to pull it out. I found that buying the actual tool made it slightly easier.

Just go to any auto parts stores and pick up the right tool for $10. The problem with hangers is that it's easy to push them too far in and break the locking tabs.

Google ford radio removal tool to see what the genuine tool looks like. See the collard taper at the ends? That's there to "lock" into the tabs to make them easier to release without breaking them

YES I FINALLY DID THIS PIECE OF !#%@!#. Finally got it opened up using the wire hanger method.

I feel great cause i just fixed the radio problem. Omg im so damn pro.
