I've been doing some work on my girlfriends 3.8l. It was sputtering a little bit, so I replaced her spark plugs and fuel filter. It stopped the sputtering, but she has also been smelling fuel while shes driving. It seems to only smell at WOT, but I also noticed that whenever I jerk the car side to side, you can smell it too. I'm assuming the smell is coming from the tank since fuel is sloshing around in the tank whenever you floor it or jerk it side to side. Does anyone know where this could possibly be coming from before I take the time to drop the fuel tank? I've looked for drips on the ground, fuel on the outside of the tank, and havent found anything...
