Only 145 seems a bit low for how the car responds. My 6 '94 runs alot faster than the last car I had, which was a 150 hp nissan. All I've done is new plugs and wires, and God knows that doesn't do much if anything. Myabe it's all in my head, but it runs faster than 145 to me.

compared to other "sports cars" the pre-99 v6 is pretty damn weak though.
are they even considered sports cars?[sm=sigh.gif]

By all means, do not scap your car. I agree the stock v6s are weak, but they do have a lot of potential. Granted the v8s are faster, but remember you will burn much more gas and your insurance will rise, so ask yourself is it really worth it. I saw the Eclipse commercial to and the thing to remember is that this car is a front wheel drive and it is the top of the line model advertised. They run between 25-30,000 dollars and eat gas like crazy. The best thing to do is to visit rpmoutlet.com along with ebay and buy a few upgrades like a cold air intake, a 73mm mass air meter housing, a set of underdrive pulleys along with a reduction sized water pump pulley, add a new 56mm thottle body, maybe a new set of spark plugs, along with new headders an x-pipe or h-pipe, along with a dual exhaust system and get a ecu tunner by diablo or somebody else, and you will be pushing around 200-220 horsepower, maybe more. Also lighten your load a little, and you will be running with the big boys. You could drop in a v8 but you will still have to spend a good chunck of money to convert the car over, in my opinion I say just pimp out your six and laugh at the competition.
