I bought a hand held tuner from Justin at VMP back in 2007. I run my car just as hard as anybody else, if not harder, and have never had a problem. Never had premature plug fouling. Been running the engine to 6,000rpms on his tune without issue. It's been great to me and I'd reccomend it to anybody else looking to increase the performance of their automobile.

This isn't true. We have dialed in literally thousands of 96-04 Mustangs. We know exactly what parameters to change in order to make commanded parameters match what happens during vehicle operation.
I've sent out plenty of tunes that come back with 12.80 air/fuel ratio flat across the board from thousands of miles away without seeing the vehicle ever.
As for timing, we target a set timing number for each fuel octane, taking into consideration ethanol content in the customers state. Our tunes have actually beat dyno tunes many times before. It's all about experience with the application you're tuning for.
If he goes and gets his car dyno'd right now on 93 octane, he'll probably find 28 degrees of timing and 12.6-12.8 air/fuel ratio, from a Bama mail-order tune. The 2 and a half horsepower that a dyno tune would squeeze out by adding a degree of timing and pulling a percent of fuel aren't worth it.

Ahhh, That's great when when someone with real knowledge interjects to set things right. I've got a smile mile wide. Very nice.
