The BBK shorties are a quality substitute to the stock manifolds that crack and break. Most of the fast v6's don't use LT's anyways. IMO LT's are a waste unless you only plan on doing bolt-ons like everyone else.
Yeah, because they are running with a TURBO setup.

Dyno.

Buncha turbo setups high on that list.

Its been said before, each performance part is part of a puzzle. Each one helps.

No offense, but I have a bolt-on/nitrous car making ~330hp/400ftlbs, with a best time of 12.47 at 110.92. So if you'd like to talk about making power and going fast, I'm all ears.

My car isn't turbo, and based on the "official dyno list" that I guess was supposed to impress me.. My stock bottom end, bolt on & nitrous car is right there with the guys running d-1's with 4.2 bottom ends built to the moon and back.

I'm not new to the game bud, I've had the LT's before, and I was not impressed. The car ran no better. The only gain you will get with LT's is if the car has heads and boost. The exhaust on the 3.8's is not a restriction, nor do the engines flow enough air to need LT's.

So whats you're stand in this?

Simple: Fix the A/c drip, and replace with junk yard stockers. No need to spend any more money unless your making power. Long tubes are the common recommendation because most people (MOST) are only interested in sound (a louder car).

Curious 12.47 on what tire/wheel setup?

Long tubes help to produce more power at all levels through the power curve, over stock 99+ they are a big improvement.
It may not be the best bang for your buck but its a puzzle piece that helps overall.

The 00' That I modified wasnt built either but really improved overall with the 96' stockers I put on, a modified 94/95 GT BBK O/R Xpipe and dumped Borla's. Beyond bolt ons and a tune, I had many many many hours in my garage invested in my heads and intakes.

I was making enough at that point to really be able to feel a large difference by just putting the stock 3 to 1's on and a 2.5" X-pipe. That means my MILD build needed more air out as I was getting more in.

I have been at this for a while too, headers help especially when things start to breath more.

I wrote a good 94-98 VS 99-04 header guide a while back that has some good tech data in the diff's between the two stock headers/manifolds. Just search for it.

LT's are great for those that dont want to spend money twice and plan to upgrade more as they go along.

Headers arent usually the only mod that someone chooses to do once they get that involved and costly. If he is at headers he will probably go a lot deeper later.

btw, my wife just bought a new set of Ceramic coated BBK LT's and x-pipe for her 01' Cobra swap, she is building a parts pile for an eaton swap too.

You cant tell me that those headers dont make more power than the stock manifolds, especially when her eaton swap is complete.

Yeah I already have the merchandise. I'll try this out and hope for the best. I know having products returned can be troublesome. Thanks for you input.
