Default service light on

my ck engine light is on and when i read it with a scanner its reading intake manifold runner control valve stuck open. its not running rough or no change in fuel mileage. has anyone ran into this problem

there should be no difference in how the engine runs with the IMRC's open. Essentially you are running how a 99-00 engine doesn, since they dont have IMRC's.

But I would get it checked out, cause if they magically shut and didnt open again, you might be in some trouble.

its a 02 mustang with the v6 in it. there saying that its broke in the open postion

Stuck open isn't a bad thing. Stuck closed would hurt performance a little bit, but still not the end of the world.

Like has been said stuck open won't hurt anything, but it is a good idea to get it fixed at some point just in case they decide to shut and then not reopen.

see if you cant find a 99-00 lower intake (without IMRCs) and a windstar upper to swap over to permantely solve the problem
