Update.
Lt's are going in tomorrow morning. I had hoped to put them in myself and do some other things. Well, my vacation is long over and I never even got all the parts in. Basically, since I was going to take off the intake, coil, whatnot, I was going to do some work. I had planned on windstar and P&P lower. Well, I've been chasing my tail around for weeks now trying to get all of the parts in. So, I'm tired of waiting. Someone reco-ed me doing it separate so I could comment on each mod, well looks like that is happening after all. I'm also gonna be a wuss and let a shop do my Lt's. But, it is a buddy of a buddies' shop, and I am going to turn most of the wrenches. That way I don't have to sneak through town setting alarms off....
also, we can pull it up on the rack if I mess something up. Best part, he's only charging me 100 bucks to use the rack, weld on my cats, and reconnect my mufflers. So, here is where I sit at right now:

question for the 02 sensor gurus. Seems one of my sensors got jock knocked in shipping. Seems like it just busted the housing. Do you think I could just clean it up, liquid electrical tape it and be good?

the one's on my car are old as dirt. The headers came with some lower mileage ones. The wires got a bit of the housing busted off of them though, doesn't show that well in the pic.

Headers are officially in!!! Thanks to everyone that has chimed in and helped so far. I'm really worn out right now, so pics and video will follow tomorrow. I currently have more questions than I do answers. My first question is about 02 sensors. My front 2, yes FRONTS, the wires weren't long enough. So they used plugs(for now) on the 2 bungs on the LT's. The back 2, 02 sensors fit fine. The car started and drove fine all the way home and never threw up a CEL....... how is that?
I've been told that you get a CEL because the rear 02's are moved too far downstream. But how about me? I don't even have the front 2, plus my rears are attached to a mac OR h-pipe.
Hmmmm. Has me wondering. Next, the guys at the muffler shop begged me not to put my factory cats back on. Even said I could bring it back for free and have them put on. My state does not emiss. test. So, currently running MAC Lt's to Mac OR h-pipe grafted to straight pipe (2.50 diameter), to factory GT mufflers. It sounds great(IMO). But I didn't do this for the sound, I did it for gains. So, I need to know a bit about how much back pressure a stock internal 3.8 needs. Do my GT mufflers give enough since they aren't high flow? Or is some sort of catting needed to keep low end torque? Thanks in advance.

I never felt a low end torque loss when I put LTs and OR H on.

How far have your drove your car? the computer prob hasnt had enough error codes from the O2's to throw the CEL yet. I never had a code until I drove about 100km's.

You will need O2 extenders for the front sensors... http://www.americanmuscle.com/bbk-o2...harnesses.html

For the rear O2's its not that they are further downstream, its because there isnt a cat surrounding it.

Congratulations on the work done. This is my next project and I obsess a bit till its accomplished. Where did you get the headers? I am going to use a ProChamber for mid pipe. And I'm definitely keeping my Flowmaster 10's. What do you think about the advantage of having the lift was compared to having to do it in your own garage? Doable at home?
MUFFLERS- (Your exhaust+CAI+SCT Tuner)Let that car breath. Choose something/anything other than the GT takeoffs.

I got the headers used from a board member here. As far as lift advantage goes.... I really didn't get to use it that much. Basically, I got to pull the car up on it long enough to cut what I had on there, and then remove the cats.

After that, I had to pull it off and go work with jackstands in a garage.
Here is a video of what it sounded like with just shortys being pulled off the rack.

Yes, it would have been wayyyyyy easier putting in the LT's if it was on a rack. All the rest of the job wasn't that bad, just when it came time to wiggle them in from the bottom. Especially the pass. side. I had to jack the car up higher 3 diff times until I finally got it high enough! It was scary seeing it almost maxed out on the stands. It was so high, I probably could have limboed the radiator! But, you need all that height to point the headers upwards and then rotate them into the cavity.
It took about 5 hours total. But, I was working entirely by myself, and I did take a lunch break and rested a few times. But, finally got there!

Here is a video of it running after getting everything welded up. The guys talked me into leaving the cats off, so I'm gonna drive it for a week or two and decide if I can feel any torque loss. If no, then it's done, if yes, then it gets hacked on again and cats go back in.
