Default 96 electrical problems

I own a 1996 v6 mustang. i have had it for nearly 6yrs now. since i bought the car i have had problems with the electric windows. i have a temporary fix by grounding them to the doors. i can now raise and lower the drivers side but can not do so with the passenger side. i have replaced the drivers side motor but haven't done so to the passenger. also having issues with the gas gauge i don't know if the float needs to be replaced or what but it does not give an accurate reading on how much fuel i have. any help with this would be greatly appreciated. unrelated subject is there a mustang car club in colorado. all help is appreciated. philip diver

Its hard to fallow what the problem is. Why did you have to ground the regulators to the door? That would suggest you have a bad ground somewhere that may be causing other issues, including the one you are having now.

How inaccurate is it? This issue is worth its own thread.

Default the issue.

i had a friend point out the issue with the grounding some time ago i just don't have the money to have it properly checked out or even have it fixed.
with the gas gauge i could fill the car to full by the time it reaches the bottom of the tank it will at first say there is a quarter tank up till i get moving and then if i sit for long periods of time it will go down to almost the red. after letting the car sit for a time it will go back to nearly a quarter tank. its very perplexing

Fuel problem sounds like a bad sensor/float.
