Default CCRM Help!!

LONG READ, BUT HELP NEEDED!! PLEASE READ!

I'm writing in the hopes of getting help with my 1999 Mustang 3.8lt.V6

Awhile back I noticed that my air condition would go from icy cold to warm depending on the cars speed. At speeds of 25-35mph. the air condition would go from icy cold to warm.

Speed back up to @45 and faster and the air would return to icy cold. That was the first problem I noticed.

Shortly after that the engine cooling fan stopped working and the car overheated. I disconnected the fan and wired it straight to the battery to test the fan and presto the fan worked fine.

I started reading internet Mustang forums for possible solutions and found others with similar problems. They had found that the cars CCRM was bad. I went the next day had a diagnostic ran on the car and it did come back with having a bad CCRM.

I removed my factory CCRM took it to Advance Auto. They did not have a replacement part that crossed over to my OEM part number. But they did have a replacement part for a CCRM number I found on a Mustang site in the forum section.

The employee said there would be no problem at all. After installing their part my engine cooling fan still does not work and now my air condition will only blow hot air.

My question is: are you supposed clear up the CCRM computer error by running another dianostic after installing the new part?

Like any sensor it should not need to be reset if it is functioning correctly. However if the ECU is somehow "stuck" and it does happen, and by that I mean that it manually needs the error removed then that could be the problem. I would run and see if it throws the code again and try to clear it, if it doesn't clear then they sent you a faulty CCRM. If it does and the problem persist then your problem may lie elsewhere.

jthorn9,

Thanks for the feedback. I'm going to run another diagnostic because I'm still showing an error. I'll let you know the results. Again, I appreciate your help!

No problem, wish I could offer more advice, but these are the type of things that you have to eliminate one possibility and move on if that problem persist until you come to a resolution.
