Verdict is in... Driver side head gasket is blown. Not sure if the head is warped so I'm going to have them worked on too. The shop doing the work is a small family owned business so they are charging very cheap. They quoted me at $1,000 - $1,200 max.

I would do it myself but I have never torn into an engine before. I can fix anything else but not the internals. on top of that I just had a term paper droped on my lap.
