Default Map light in 1999 convertible?

This might be a stupid question...but I recently bought a 1999 convertible that has many problems. One is, no map/interior light. I have looked up under the dash, no bulb. My 1990 convertible had a map light under the dash. Where is the interior light on the 1999 convertible?

Thanks
Francis

I have an 02 convertible, so not sure its the same...but it has 2 map lights that come on when I unlock the car or open the door, or you can manually activate them with the push buttons. They are located on each side of the rearview mirrow on the bottom.

Mine does not have any lighting on the rear view mirror. Thanks for the tip though.

If anyone else knows if 1999 convertibles have a map light, and where it is, please help. Thanks.

Strange, my 98 conv has lights in the same place as powellst's 02.

Does your 99 have power windows, locks and such? If so I would expect the lamps to be there. The 99 owners manual shows them there (if equipped). Since there is no way to mount a dome light that's the only place they can go. can't imagine they built a car without interior lights.
here's alink to the owners manual:

Could someone have replaced the mirror?

That's exactly what happened. I had a chance to take off the molding over the weekend, and found the place where a previous owner cut the cord. I'm gonna order a replacement from an ebay seller, should be back to stock this weekend.

Thanks for the input from everyone.
