I want to x pipe my 96 v6 mustang and I ran into a dynomax ultra flow x with an x pipe in it and I wanted someone's elses opinion if it's a good buy, and how much more horsepower would it give me since I have a y pipe right now

it will be a small bump in power, however an X, H or true dual setup will not have any differances in power between those specifically, just sound, you will however get a small bump with the mid pipe and cat back

No power increase, not anything detectable. Just a change in exhaust tone will be experienced.
Read this link, it explains how to construct yourself an exhaust system. After 20+ years of testing in this shop they also help dismiss all the myths and rumors, & boy are there ALOT of BS being told on forums out there.
A midpipe that will add power is the PoChamber or building a "Pressure Wave Termination Box".
You will also be surprised at what mufflers truly are "perfectly built" & functional mufflers

From what I got from the article, your best bet for increased power is:
Long tube headers (ceramic) (spiked collector), ProChamber mid-pipe, Flowmaster 10 series muffler, OR Hooker Aerochamber, OR Borla XR-1 multicore, along with Magnaflow Performance mufflers.
As it states, pipe diameter and back pressure are critical. Myth's get told and people believe them. I thought that article was well written.
