will I fail emissions?

Im wondering if I will fail emission/smog test here in CA in my 99 v6, if I install a COI correctly? I read on a CA website that sells a COI this
"Some Parts Are Not Legal For Sale Or Use In California On Any Pollution Controlled Motor Vehicle."

does this mean I have to, remove my intake every time I get emission test, and put back on the stock one??

Do you mean CAI?? What's a COI? Sounds like a fish! Most aftermarket parts that are emissions related, will come with a C.A.R.B. sticker if they are approved. So long as the sticker is under the hood, near the part, the smog tech won't fail it. Caviat...the part has to be in good working order!

the MAC CAI's nowadays come with a decal you put on to show its legal...w/o it some will fail you based on visual

All cais are legal, but like auto said some will fail you on visual.

UNLESS you have the decal MAC now sends visible to show they are legal

any one know how I can get this decal, my CAI is by Bomz racing, they didn't include one..

Call them. If you get some hot shot just out of smog school, he's more than likely to fail you. The newbies are REALLY nervous about getting popped.

I doubt they will be able to give you one...thats why you go with big company names that have the approval to be street legal. ALL of these mom and pop companies that COPY them don't get any clearance so they are much cheaper too.
