Hello, all! Today I was driving my car with the ac running and I noticed my speed dropped to around 40 mph and wouldn't pick up any speed. I continued to drive for a few minutes, then the car got silent and almost stalled out! I pulled over, turned the ac off and let the car sit for about 2 minutes afterwords it crank normally and drove like nothing was ever wrong. After about 5 minutes it did the same thing all over again and after letting it sit, it crank and drove normally and I was able to make it home. I did notice a few days ago that the car was a lil sluggish after i got some gas and I also noticed that today when it was losing power, I could smell exhaust fumes. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Could be running lean. Might be a dirty air filter. Perhaps a clogged cat. Bad plugs. Too hot. Any number of things.

 

Thanx for the reply! I got the car tuned up a few weeks ago at Precision Tune, and they changed my plugs but not the wires. They also said that I did need to replace my air filter. Tomorrow i'm gonna buy new wires and an air filter and hopefully that'll stop the problem. I haven't had any problems today, but it maybe because I didn't run the ac.
