2000 V6 Mustang 5 Speed

- When im at idle my cars gear shifter shakes is this a mustang thing or..?

- When in rain my car will pretty much go sideways if its under throttle i have brand new tires on it but cheap nexen ones.

- If i leave my car for the night and go in the morning to start it up it kinda feels abit cranky to fire up.

- Ball park amount how much would it cost for a few interior parts like middle console etc from a scrap yard, i called a few scrap yards and they dnt got any 99-04 Mustangs scrapped.

- Are 99-04 Mustangs Passenger side power window known to break? my buddy and i got almost the same mustang and his power switch from his driver side wont roll down his passenger window but the passenger switch will bring it down.

- Sometimes when i drive in 1st and have it at like 3500-4000 rpm and put my clutch in my rearend will make a bang noise kinda i checked my fluid and all good but i noticed when i was under there my rearend seal is leaking anyone know how much a seal is worth ?

#2 - Depends on the tires. ive heard all Nexen tires but the N3000 suck in the rain. I have the N3000 and they stick like glue in dry or rain. Even driven them in the snow.

 

My car came with ****ty tires when I bought it and it was an absolute death trap when the roads were wet!

I got a set of sport all season tires from nankang which helped alot, I would however not recommend nankang unless you are looking for an "ok" cheaper tire.

BFGoodridge and Nitto makes great tires for their price, if you want to go all in then; Pirelli P-Zero Rosso! ..P7s are great too, not as good as the P-Zeros though.

My used 2004 came with Riken Raptors and I have to say, those damn tires handle like the Mustang is on rails in dry or wet conditions (I don't drive it in the rain like I do when it's dry but I can tell they stick). Discount Tire near me told me they keep them in stock, since they are a discount tire. I didn't ask their price but I did see them in 225/55Z16 for under $90 on-line. Yes, they are Z-rated tires.

 

The shaking has a lot of variables that goes into it. Because the shifter is directly bolted to the transmission there will always be shaking, however if it's shaking more than....oh say 1/8" I'd be getting the motor mounts or transmission mounts looked at.

Your car is going sideways in rain because either the tires are too narrow or because they have poor rain performance characteristics. I like Nitto and Summuto performance tires. They're not really that much more expensive than your regular tires are Sams, Walmart, Sears, Firestone, etc.

Get a Haynes manual to better diagnose the starting issue. Way too many things to check. Most basic of things are anything that has to do with the ignition and starting which are the battery, alternator, starter, flywheel, pressure plate, clutch, belt, etc. Anyone of these could make noise during start up, along with other things if bad.

Look on ebay and Craigs list. Usually center consoles are around $100-200 depending on condition, shape, color, etc.

Either the motor in the door is bad or there is a short in the control panel. Either one will cause the window to not work. All 94-04 Mustangs will be prone to various electrical issues in the doors because Ford uses solid wire for most applications. Like a coat hanger, as you bend the wire over and over again, over time the wire will break causing a short and the system to not function correctly. The break usually occurs inside the door to firewall area from opening/closing the door. Other electrical issues can be cause by a poor exterior seal at the window which will allow water to seep inside the door also causing corrosion and wear.

The seal is a basic gasket you can order at any auto parts store. They don't cost much money at all. However I would highly advise that you get a friend or family member that is a certified mechanic to look at the rear end for you just to make sure nothing is damaged back there.
