oil smell?
Hello all, My dad recently bought a new 2003 mustang v-6 automatic and we have been having problems with it. When driving it sometimes there is a burning oil smell. We've went to the dealer two times now but they can't find a problem. One time they didn't smell it and the other time they finally did. They replaces some sensor or something but it didn't stop the smell. It was really bad the other day when my dad came home. It had recently snowed and he drove up the driveway and floored and and did a 180 to back into his parking spot. It was really neat. The transmission is also slipping already too and the car only has 14,000 miles on it and is only 7 months old.My daddoesn't really drive his car hard but I do. I mean, I don't total drive its brains out or nothing I just like to push it a little.Anyways any help would be grately appreciated. The oil smell is my only real concern. By the way I took off the air silencer and that is the only mod.</P>
yeah do that and if there is no leak then change the oil and oil filters and what not if that doesn't help make sure your automatic is doing its job. you know how you feel the auto sort of dump a little with it changes gears make sure your car is not in high rpms if your car is in high rpms and is not catching the gears it will prodive an awful smell its simular to when a guy who drives a stick rides the clutch in with it revin high rpms. It smells bad.
Well DUH!Dont hotrod a V6 thats its problem you are driving it!V6's are economy oriented not performance. And especially with next to no miles on it.Id be telling your pops to take it back and get a different one and then not let you drive it.Hearing this is why i wont even let my mother into one of my cars let alone a kid.
