CEL P0340 - Ideas?
Looking for an ideas that would help identify what would fix my CEL P0340 Camshaft Position Sensor A/Bank 1, Circuit Malfunction. Doing some research some people say its the alternator, some say its the Cam Pos. sensor., some say its the starter. Looking to sell the car so need to get the CEL to go away. Also, no the car is not acting any different then before, still runs great.
Thanks,
Matthew

This site has some useful info: http://www.obd-codes.com/p0340
Its a problem in the circuit which could be anything on the circuit. You'll waste money & time throwing parts at it. It could be something as simple as a broken wire. It should be fairly straight forward to track down if your handy with a multi-meter. Even easier if you have an oscilloscope handy (most people don't). Its a 5 volt circuit (if memory serves). It, like most sensors, shares a common ground with other sensors. So I would start with a voltage drop test on the input wire(s) to the sensor and go from there.
Because there can be so many difference causes the only way to fix it is to diagnose it. What worked for one person on their car may not work for you and your car.
Good luck...
