In cold start the car has a abnormal idol for about 5 min it's revs to about 2k stays there for a few moments the drops a little. Then when I take off the car is really sluggish and falls on its face on acceleration. Back fires pretty bad also when shifting down to slow down. I unplugged the maf to see if the car would act any different and it didn't at all. My next idea would be the spark coils and plugs and wires but when my car heats up to running temp it runs really well it's just cold it runs like the worst car ever

 

it should be something with the purge i believe . having the same problem and fixing it tomorrow let you know how it works out.

 

Unplugging the MAF only tells you part of the story. Try cleaning it and see if it helps. A bad temp sensor will also cause cold start/idle/drive problems. When the motor is cold and waiting for the O2 sensors to get warmed up, the computer uses the MAF & Temp sensors to calculate how much fuel to put into the motor. If either is bad or producing incorrect readings strange things will happen.

I cleaned the maf car runs better but the problem still there. Let me know what you find purge.

 

My car is doin the same thing and kinda jitters at 40mph especially if I'm not accelerating and just trying to hold 40

 

purge fixed some of it but still not to where i want it to. trying tps tomorrow.
