Default TPS Issue

Well, when I start the car in the morning, the idle seemed a bit off, and when I hit the gas the RPM would drop, but then kick back up. So my neighbor told me that the TPS could be going bad. I just got a new TPS and now after adjusting the RPS to get it back down to 500 at idle, when I hit slam the gas, it has next to no acceleration anymore and shifts gears at 2000 RPM. Before, I could get it to red-line, or near 4,500 RPM. Is there a way I was suppose to adjust that sensor?

the tps is a 1-5v scale.. it doesnt adjust idle at all. set it to .95v with the key on/engine off and throttle body closed.

your idle air control valve behind the throttle body is what controls idle

Alright, thanks. I'm going to in a bit and i'll let you know how it goes. It pisses me off that it takes forever to even get up to speed.

Welp, it was 1.000 volts on the dot. And we figured out, it's not shifting out of 3rd gear. I have to manually drop it back into second or first. Any ideas?
