Unhappy Alternator output.

Can some one tell me what voltage the alternator should be putting out? My charging system warning light will come for a few minutes while driving and then go off again. With the car running, and no other loads on, I am getting 13.9 volts. Seem like it should be sufficient.

There are other things in the alternator that can cause the light. It should charge at around 14.4 volts.
