Default ABS verses non ABS axles

Bought my son a 98 coupe. He broke the drivers side rear axle off last fall and has finally saved enough to buy a new one. Everything we find for replacement says ABS but his car is without ABS. Half the suppliers say that is the coorect axle and half say it isnt. Isn't the ABS axle slightly longer to accommodate the "ring"? Those that say the ABS axle isn't correct for his car also say they don't have that non ABS axle available. I hate to spend the roughly $200 + shipping to find out the ABS axle doesn't fit.
The best I can figure it is 8.8" with 28 spline 5 lug. Thought i'd ask people who deal with these in the real world. Does any one know what axle I should be using and where the heck I can find one new? Happy to provide any further info to get this figured out. Thanks in advance!

If this car is a v6 then you have a 7.5 inch rear. 8.8 came in the GT only. Unless someone has upgraded the rear end in this car already. There should be a tag bolted to the diff cover. Find that and post what numbers are on that. We can decide it for you.

75 means it is a 7.5" rear end. I would assume that you could just use an axle with the abs ring on it.
