Default paint help

I have a few big chips in my pain on the hood. I went and bought one of those kits that supposedly patches it with the factory color match. Well I followed the instructions, and put the paint over the chips, and it just looks even worse. I still gotta sand it after the paint dries for 12 hours then clearcoat it. But I'm not optimistic about the outlook. Should I just take it and have it done professionally and save myself teh trouble or will it turn out ok after the sand and clearcoat??? Anyone know?

no as long as you feither it alot and wet sand wet sand wetsand that thing seriously thats what wll make or break you you have to wet sand it befor you een think about clear coating it and also clear coat it like 50 times and wet sand that as well and clear coat it 3 more times for a finish you will notice that that section is a little "newer" but thats how it wil happened professional or not

well i did wetsand after i put the primer on, and it looks like it is scratching the paint up a little around the chips....I am worried about making a small chip into an ugly quarter sized patch of scratches. which would be even worse than a small chip. Maybe I worry too much but I just don't want to turn a small problem into an even bigger and uglier problem.

use fine grit paper and make sure it is really wet and feither that thing in a lot if the chip is a 1/2 big feither at least 2 inches and wet sand it all then clear coat and buff that will take all the tiny scratches out
