I have a 2001 3.8L V6 with 103,000 miles on it, parents bought it new in 01. Recently I have heard a rattling sound coming from the engine when i'm slowing down for a stop, and the sound often goes away when I step on the gas, and will return as soon as I let back off. It will also almost stall when I start it 5-10 minutes after driving the car, the RPM will jump to 1k, then drop to almost 500 before returning to idle. It will also occasionally choke when put into WOT from a standstill. It sounds like an IAC issue to me, but ive been wrong before. Any ideas?
