Default Front knuckle issues.

Good morning everyone.

So a couple months ago (in aug) my friend and I replaced the front wheel bearings. When I was putting the bearing on the spindle, it was pretty tight and my friend had to “assist” in getting it to slide on. I’m pretty sure that made the bearing go bad, as it already is making that loud hum You get from those.

does anyone have specs for how thick that spindle should be? I want to measure it to make sure it hasn’t swollen over the years.

thanks for the help!

A swollen spindle?? Hmmm. Assuming this is a 2WD, there are TWO bearings per wheel.,They should both easily slide into place on the spindle. Get the bum one off, and closely inspect the spindle for deep nicks or indentations which would make the bearing tight. If necessary, file off nicks carefully, and try again.

I didn’t see any the first time I took it off, but the bearing refused to go on. It’s pretty weird.
